Michał Lisowski

  • born 1982
  • born in Skarżysko-Kamienna
  • lives and works in Warsaw
  • specializes in concept art and digital painting

“However I have many commercial clients and painting became my job, I would like to get back to my private projects. They allow to get to know an artist better – what are his inspirations or motivations”.

More so, professional projects not always let him fully express himself but as he says – concept art is based on compromise. He avoids defining his style, concentrates on joy of creation and satisfaction just after accomplishing a project. He draws proficiently inspirations from many sources – texts on culture, nature and current events – which determine him to take up various challenges in concept graphics. His works belong to canon of classical digital painting. He creates with use of digital tools i.e. tablet and computer. He has occasional contact with traditional media when he takes pencil and watercolours for his own.

The first bigger project of Lisowski was a video game “Halo 4: Spartan Ops”, but it was his private initiative – “Nowhere Express” turned out to be a magnet for clients. The whole list is very impressive and it includes: Axis Animation, Ars Thanea, AKQA, Blizzard, The Wall Street Journal, Laika Studio, Platige Image, Havas Worldwide, and Orka Film.
