Marek Madej

  • born 1987
  • born in Ostrowia Mazowiecka
  • lives and works in Warsaw
  • specializes in concept art for gaming

“I have been a gamer for as long as I remember thus an opportunity to work on a game gives me lots of fun. I am fascinated with creating imaginary worlds especially their visual part. The fact I take part in constructing of places then virtually visited by someone is uncanny. I also design characters one can meet during a virtual adventure”.

One of the main characteristic features of his works is never-ending experiments and visual trips into unknown lands. He is fascinated with dark moods thus his artistic style seems to be a bit heavy intensified by toned-down colour palette. He creates his works digitally especially for commercial clients. However some designs take shape in traditional sketchbook, especially these created for his own. He works, most of all, as a concept graphic, mainly in video games. Mass culture and fashion have great influence on his works. He likes challenges in designing, building a concept and solving problems connected with these areas.

He reached himself the presented level gaining acclaim of many clients The list includes: CD Projekt RED, Platige Image, Breakpoint, Farm 51, Teyon, Human Ark, Privateer Press and Paizo Publishing. He took part in works on “The Witcher 3”, card game “Gwent” and films “Melancholy” by Lars Von Trier or “Uwikłanie” by Jacek Bromski. He also designs music albums and books covers.
