He engages himself in much diversified projects. He specializes in press and applied illustration. He operates in various techniques depending on objective and needs of accepted artistic challenge. Cartoon and linear illustration are present in his activities as well as digital painting. Work on design and compositions gives him particular joy. It is usually preceded with precise theme analysis and search of references gathered on a mood board. He graduated from Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Warsaw Technical University under tutelage of Professor Krzysztof Marciniak.
He considers a short animated film in his direction, “Bloody Sunday” as his most important concept art project nominated to Animago Award 2015 and awarded with KTR silver statue in Warsztat Audio Video category. There are other highlights in Kortyński’s career including “Anomaly Warzone Earth”, a great hit among computer games and the fourth series of Polish legends animated in 3D “Kanon baśni polskich”. Kortyński collaborated with production of many Polish films including “The Warsaw Uprising”, ”Obława” or “Dziewczyny z Szafy”. In 2016 at All-Poland Festival of Polish Animation O! PLA he was awarded with Special Award for graphic animation and computer 3D animation and the Second Award Srebrny Tobołek Koziołka Matołka in Studyjna category. His works were published in many periodicals including Exotique 6 and Exposé 10 of Ballistic Publishing or Book of Creation 2012 published by Oracom.
