“My illustrations are an interpretation of my thoughts- strange figures, equivocal situations, space (cosmic), melancholy.”
Patryk Hardziej presents an eclectic style. He combines graphic design with illustration. He is mostly inspired by various texts, especially the books of Stanisław Lem. He is interested in contrasting forms, colours and lights which create an unspoken, mysterious reality.
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk Graphics Department under the tutelage of Professor Adam Kamiński. His interests in graphic signs resulted in the All-Poland Exhibition of Graphic Signs. He is both its originator and curator. Presently, it is the biggest exposition of this type in Europe. In 2016, he designed the visual identification of the Polish Pavilion at 15th International Biennial of Architecture in Venice. His illustrations have been published in Polish magazines such as “Znak”, “Sukces”, “Duży Format” and “F5 Print Edition”, as well as foreign titles, including “Bill Magazine”, “La Peste Magazine” and “6YL Magazine”. Along with Patrycja Podkościelny, he established the Negation Studio in 2013 – a small studio dealing mostly with the design of visual communication for brands and applied graphics. He works for individual clients, as well as agencies from the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.
