The illustrator’s art is inspired by great painters and history of art, which she considers a big storage for ideas and concepts. Her art distinguishes itself with a tendency to geometrize form, vivid colours and clear composition. She creates mostly in graphic programs (Photoshop and Illustrator).
She finished Graphics at Fine Arts Department of Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń under tutelage of Prof. Witold Michorzewski. Since 2015 she is a member of Applied Art Artists Association (STGU). Martyna Wójcik-Śmierska is mostly interested in press illustration, poster, covers and prints and also mural design.
The artist’s illustrations can be found in Polish periodicals including “Kukbuk”, “Newsweek Polska”, “Pani”, “Twój Styl”, “Glamour”, “Przekrój”, “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “Tygodnik Powszechny”, “Wysokie Obcasy”. “Wysokie Obcasy Extra”. “K Mag”, “Kikimora”, “Charaktery”, “Sens”, “Bloomberg Businesweek Polska” and also in foreign periodicals including “Monocle Magazine”, “Novum Magazine”, “Anorak”, “Le Particulier” “The Financial Management CIMA”, “Elementi”. Art viewers have had opportunity to see her works at numerous exhibitions home and abroad.
