“I am a slave to detail and a number of details. The intensive naturalism of paintings helps to move the viewer to the world of THINGS, to look closer at their fabric and thus seduce the spectator’s attention.”
In his work, full of symbols and metaphors, Marcin Bondarowicz draws heavily on surrealism. He graduated from Radom Technical University in the Education Department (now the Art Department) with a distinction, earning a diploma in painting and graphics at the studio of Professor Krzysztof Wyzner and in the Painting Workshop led by Professor Bogumił Lukaszewski. He made his debut in 2004 in “Puls Biznesu” as a cartoonist. He has worked on many Polish periodicals including “Forbes”, “Focus”, “National Geographic”, “Traveler – National Geographic”, “Manager Magazine”, “Bloomberg Businessweek Polska”, “Newsweek Polska”, “Tygodnik Powszechny”, “Przekrój”, “Polska The Times”, “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “Nie”, “Fakt”, “Super Express”, “Fronda”, “Coaching”, “Puls Biznesu”, as well as with international ones: “Himal Southasian”, “Stern”, “Eulenspiegel Satiremagazin” “The Daily Newspaper”, “Cartoon Weekly”, “Catapult Art Magazine” and “Pulse”. He created portraits of the thirty six most famous Poles in the US for the album “400 Years of Polish Immigrants in America.” and also works for several book publishers. He has won many awards both in Poland and abroad including New York. Works of Marcin Bogdanowicz are exhibited in many museum and private collections in Poland and the World.
