Grzegorz Rutkowski
- born 1988
- born in Zgorzelec
- lives and works in Pieńsk
- specializes in concept art and illustration
“I always use wider perspective, both in life and in painting”.
In his art concepts and pictures emerge from a mixture of chaos, never-ending experiments and practice. He is not attached to a direction he is going towards and simply concentrates on painting. He likes villains and dark ambience. He often uses effect layers or colour gradation, changes in contrast and exposition. Sometimes he uses photographs but mostly explores traditional digital painting. Despite his participation in concept projects, he considers himself an illustrator because he is more attracted to particular painting, its composition, colour and light than a category of idea itself. He draws his inspirations from cyberspace, works of other artists and also video games, although he finds them in reality as well. He is interested in cinema and wants to pursue this new media.
He worked with known graphic studios including: CD Projekt Red, Ubisoft or Games Workshop. Among many of his ventures he had an opportunity to take part in, he especially appreciates creating illustration for “Rise of the Overloards” project and also a promotional picture for game “The Witcher 3; Wild Hunt”. Currently he works on illustrations for a popular game, “Magic: The Gathering”.
