“My style is artistic ADHD. In traditional meaning there is none.
My approach towards every illustration is like I try a theme for the first time. I look for adequate means for both idea and form were coherent. I used to paint in acrylics, I enjoyed texture and detail. Today I even use my phone and I am still searching. My motto is: never look back.”
He graduated from State Art University in Poznań (presently Art University) in Posted Department under tutelage of Prof. Waldemar Świerzy. So far, he created over one thousand three hundred posters printed in Poland and abroad. Among his main areas of interests he mentions press and book illustration, design of music albums covers and also theatre and TV scenography as well as scripts for films and video clips.
The artist published his works in many periodicals including “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “Pani”, “Zwierciadło”, “Forbes”, “Brief”, “OOH Magazine”, “Przegląd Techniczny” or Polish and American editions of Playboy. Andrzej Pągowski presented his works at numerous individual exhibitions home and abroad. He won several dozens of Polish and foreign awards and among his biggest trophies one should mention award for the Best Film and Movie Poster in Los Angeles and several first prizes at International Movie Poster Competition in Chicago.
