“My biggest professional mistake was when during Football World Championships in 2010 I had to portray Cristiano Ronaldo for an article in Aktivist magazine. Not knowing much about football and without proper research I depicted him as a Christ from Rio being sure he is Brazilian.”
Presently research is one of key elements in creative process. He mostly creates advert illustrations and illustrations for music business. Main characters of his pictures are animals with human features, although he does not shun floral motives. His compositions are characterized with abundance of elements and flashy colours. Alek Morawski looks for inspirations watching other draftsmen on Instagram; he also watches cartoons and popular scientific programs.
He graduated from California College of Arts in Oakland at Illustration Department in the studio of Prof. Bob Ciano. He publishes his drawings in periodicals, books and on covers of music albums. In Poland he was more recognizable as Lis Kula. He cooperated with “Vice”, “Zwykłe Życie”, “M/I”, “Kwartalnik Muzyczny”, Gazeta.pl. “Melba”, “Street Mag” and “Aktivist”. He won many awards including gold in Polish Advert Competition KTR 2015 in category of Advertisement Illustration.
