In the case of an artist as hard-working as Przemysław Truściński, it is difficult to speak about a single style of drawing. Regardless from whether the artist decides to draw a fantasy, science fiction, satirical, historical or autobiographical comics, all his works share freedom of speech and a great range of styles.
In the case of Trust’s comics, style is of as a great importance as the story; therefore, it often dominates the story or even decides about the manner it is presented. Although it may be said that Truściński’s strokes are expressive and, even in the case of fantastic or mystic drawings, realistic, with surrealistic or dreamlike elements, it is a too far-reaching simplification.
The artist is always looking for new manners of expression. That results in his continuous experiments with various styles, techniques or even tools: not only has he drawn comics with a pen but he has also made them using a fabric. Truściński deals with other forms of expression as well, such as storyboard, illustration, concept art, graphic arts, painting, murals and stage sets for theatre or film; as a result, traces of a language typical for each of those fields are visible in his comics. Regardless from the selected technique, what is characteristic of all Trust’s comics is perfect skill and fluid manner of storytelling. As the author is perfect in presenting a character’s facial expression or gestures, his drawings involve a great emotional charge and have a strong influence on their recipients.
