Wiesław Wałkuski is a workshop perfectionist. He uses typical “easel” techniques and, within the scope of shaping the presented reality, he takes care of bringing out, in a faithful manner, the volume of presented elements, the total richness of their details, which he achieves with the use of perfect drawing and excellent chiaroscuro modelling. The artist draws from the historical painting tradition, but also frequently refers to modern picture motifs adopted both from high and pop culture. He builds a poetic, metaphorical, dramatic world of imagination and images derived from symbolic or surrealist painting.
