Leszek Wiśniewski creates narrative posters telling some imaginary stories. The manner of visualisation can be derived from the tradition of romantic and symbolic painting and, partially, also from surrealistic and cubo-futurist painting. Using drawing as the main technique of artistic expression, the artist builds monumental forms with a strong haptic quality. A perfectly drawn line bringing out a multitude of details, outlining of forms and their chiaroscuro modelling are components of the characteristic style of Leszek Wiśniewski’s posters and paintings. An experience with the sculptural workshop is also revealed in his works. The artist aims at workshop perfection, undertaking of artistic problems with the use of traditional artistic media. The manner of depicting the presented reality exposes his interest in the work as a carrier of meanings, presentation of metaphors and symbols obtained through the prism of individual sensitivity of the artist and his cultural background.
